Museo Bolivariano
Es la segunda vez que pasando por el centro de Caracas, capital de Venezuela, me tomo un tiempo para entrar a la casa natal de Bolívar, la primera vez hace más de 15 años, en esa primera visita, en comparación a esta observé más objetos personales y muchos más documentos históricos. Ahora la casa está remodelada, la conservan muy bien, pero hay menos vidrieras de exhibición.
Tiene personal guía y el acceso es gratuito, permiten tomar fotografías y videos sin encender los flashes y como en todo museo la regla es no tocar ni apoyarse. El museo consta de 7 salas. La casa tiene 2 plantas y un patio central, desde mi punto de vista una estructura hermosa.
Bolivarian Museum
It is the second time that passing through the center of Caracas, capital of Venezuela, I take time to enter the house where Bolivar was born, the first time more than 15 years ago, in that first visit, compared to this one I observed more personal objects and many more historical documents. Now the house has been remodeled, it is very well preserved, but there are fewer display windows.
It has staff guides and access is free, they allow you to take pictures and videos without turning on the flashes and as in any museum the rule is not to touch or lean. The museum has 7 rooms. The house has 2 floors and a central courtyard, from my point of view a beautiful structure.
Las pertenencias de Bolívar hablan de él
¡Ay la licorera, la licorera!, yo quede fascinada son unas botellitas, miniaturas, los licores llevan nombres de las batallas conquistadas como, por ejemplo; Batalla de Boyacá o Toma de Puerto Cabello, conservadas en una caja de madera y al lado un texto que dice que El Libertador no tomaba aguardiente… “escasamente en una ocasión especial se toma una o dos copitas de vino tinto de bordeus…”
Los calzados, la ropa, nos ratifican que la grandeza de Bolívar estaba en sus ideales, en espíritu y metas, si bien es cierto que el pasar de los años pudo haber causado algún grado encogimiento textil, estos objetos dan cuenta de un hombre delgado y baja estatura.
Vajillas, utensilios de higiene personal, los aperos con los que montó a su caballo palomo, los libros en los que estudiaba, los mapas que trazaba dan cuenta de un Simón Bolívar rico de cuna como sabemos, pero también de un hombre que contaba con un equipo organizado de trabajo y un líder.

Crockery, personal hygiene utensils, the tools he used to ride his pigeon horse, the books he used to study, the maps he used to draw show a Simón Bolívar who was rich from birth as we know, but also a man who had an organized work team and a leader.

Esquinas de San Jacinto, a Traposos Av. Universidad, Caracas. A sus alrededores la plaza El Venezolano, la plaza Bolívar, la casa donde Bolívar vivió con su esposa María Teresa, hoy convertida en un café, la catedral de Caracas y edificios de uso administrativo del Estado, es una zona relativamente segura y se presta para tomar una café con amigos.
