A few years ago, we had visited this restaurant for a lunch meal... and it was quite a good Italian-based dining experience. However, it was a touch on the classy side, and so we added it to our list of special places and didn't think that it would start to become part of our more common eating places!

However, when our neighbour told us that they had found a really good Italian pizza takeaway place... that had cheap Monday and Tuesday pizzas (all for 8 euro each) if you picked up the takeaway.. well, we were very interested!

Imagine our surprise when we visited the other day, and it was the place that we had thought was classy! Well, if you sit down and have a proper meal, it is still a touch too much to do every week... but for a takeaway pizza? It's perect... especially on the cheap nights!

The Space

Well... I didn't take any photos of the inside, as I wasn't there to sit down and eat... however, the pizza boxes that we took away will have to substitute for the normal dining area photographs!

In The Netherlands, you are going to be bikng everywhere most of the time if you can... and, nothing is more annoying than trying to carry a stack of pizza boxes in one hand whilst trying to steer with the other... it is a recipe for disaster!

However, Maximo provides you with this handy plastic sling that keeps al the boxes together and easy to ride a bike with! So, instead you can try and kill yourself by trying to take a photo whilst riding and holding a stack of pizza boxes in a handy sling! I really should have stopped to take the photo... but I was racing to beat an incoming storm...

The Menu

As this is a takeaway review, there isn't a paper menu that we use. Instead, everything can be found on their website:

You will need to just jumpt o the Pizze tab to view the pizzas that are on offer.

One thing to note, is that it is pizza in the Italian style... so, no pineapples. Which my oldest daughter is disappointed about, as she loves Pizza Hawaii... but the pizza here is so much better than any other place close by.... so, I will have to train her to forget the Hawaii pizza!

The Food

Like I said, this is pizza in the Italian style.. so, not over topped (with crazy amounts of toppings in the American style...) and thin and tasty dough for the base.

Pizza Borromea, a ham and mushroom pizza with Mozzarella.

Quattro stagioni (4 seasons), an old favourite for those who can't decide on what to get!

Contadina, a vegetarian option with marinated eggplants and courgettes (weirdly enough, the online menu has the ingredients for the Tonno, tuna, pizza....). This was one a surprise favourite... Italian veggies are the best!

Napolitana, Olives, capers and anchovies... salty goodness!

The Experience

Oh wow... we have switched our pizza takeaway shops immediately! This is hands-down the best pizza that you can get in the area, and for 8 euro on Mondays and Tuesdays... it's a keeper!

Thankfully, our Tuesdays are usually quite crazy busy... and it can be tricky to find the time to fit the dinner cooking in... so this might well become our Tuesday dinner option!
