At TravelFeed, we're passionate about fostering a vibrant community of travel enthusiasts who share authentic, high-quality content. Our curation process is designed to highlight the best travel-related posts that meet our quality requirements. By adhering to these standards, you'll not only increase your chances of being curated but also contribute to making TravelFeed a trusted source of travel inspiration and information.
Content Quality Requirements
To be considered for curation, your posts must meet the following criteria:
- Originality: We only accept original content that is based on your own travel experiences. Your posts should reflect what you actually saw, did, and learned on your trip.
- Your Own Photos: Posts about a destination must include your own photos, taken by you on your trip. Properly licensed and attributed third-party media may complement your post, but it does not replace your own photos.
- AI-Assisted Writing: You are welcome to use AI writing tools, including our own AI Blogger, to draft, translate, or polish your posts. AI is a writing aid, not a replacement for experience: your post must tell about your personal experiences and add value for our community. Generic AI-generated articles that could be written without ever visiting the destination (for example, the output of "write a blog post about Rome") add no value and are treated as spam.
- Language: Your post must be in the language you've selected. Currently, we curate content in English, Polish, Spanish, and German.
- Length: Posts should contain at least 250 words in the selected language. This ensures that you provide sufficient depth and value to your readers.
- Media Ownership: Only use media (photos, videos, etc.) and texts that you own or have explicit permission to use.
- Proper Attribution:
- If you use any content that isn't your own (e.g., quotes from Wikipedia), you must clearly mark it as such. For quotes, use appropriate formatting to distinguish them from your original text.
- Always provide proper attribution for any external media that are not your own, even if you have purchased it (e.g., stock photos). This includes mentioning the source and, where applicable, the type of license or permission you have.
- Travel Focus: Your content must be travel-related. While this can encompass a wide range of topics (destinations, travel tips, cultural insights, etc.), it should have a clear connection to travel experiences.
- No Reposts: We do not accept reposts of your previous TravelFeed content. Each submission should be a new and unique post.
Prohibited Content
To maintain a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment, the following types of content are not allowed on TravelFeed:
- Link Spam: Excessive self-promotion or posting links primarily for advertising purposes is not permitted.
- Sexual Content: Explicit sexual content, pornography, or overly suggestive material is prohibited.
- Private Information: Sharing personal information about others without their explicit consent is strictly forbidden. This includes but is not limited to addresses, phone numbers, or private social media accounts.
- Content Violating Human Dignity: Any content that demeans, degrades, or violates the dignity of individuals or groups is not allowed. This includes hate speech, discrimination, and bullying.
- Criminal Activity: Content promoting, glorifying, or instructing in illegal activities is prohibited.
- Violence and Gore: Graphic depictions of violence, gore, or extreme cruelty are not permitted.
- Misinformation: Deliberately false or misleading information, particularly regarding health, safety, or current events, is not allowed.
- Copyright Infringement: Any content that violates copyright laws or intellectual property rights will be removed.
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting your identity is prohibited.
- Harmful Content: Content promoting self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerous behaviors is not allowed.
TravelFeed reserves the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines or that we deem inappropriate for our platform. Repeated or grave first-time violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Compliance and Moderation
We take our community standards seriously to maintain the quality and integrity of TravelFeed. Please note:
- If your post doesn't comply with our requirements, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove it from travelfeed.com, decrease its visibility, or exclude it from search engine indexing (deindexing).
- We are legally obligated to remove any content that infringes on copyrights.
These Guidelines and Your Hosted Blog
These community guidelines govern content on travelfeed.com: the community feeds, curation, and the visibility of posts on our platform. They do not restrict what you publish on your own hosted blog. Moderation actions under these guidelines, such as removal from feeds or deindexing, affect only travelfeed.com and change nothing about your hosted blog.
Content on hosted blogs only needs to comply with applicable law and our Terms of Service. Illegal content and copyright infringements will be removed everywhere, including from hosted blogs.
Reporting Violations
If you come across content that you believe violates our community standards, we encourage you to report it. Here's how:
- Find the three dots (⋮) at the top of the article's content.
- Click on the three dots to open the options menu.
- Select "Report" from the menu.
- Follow the prompts to submit your report.
Our moderation team will review all reports promptly and take appropriate action. We appreciate your help in maintaining the quality and integrity of our community.
Cross-Posting to Hive
If you wish to publish your TravelFeed posts to the Hive blockchain:
- Review and adjust your cross-posting settings via your TravelFeed dashboard.
- Ensure you respect the rules of any Hive communities you post to, as each may have its own specific guidelines.
- It is recommended to follow Hivewatchers rules to avoid being downvoted.
- Note that Hive's rules on AI differ from ours. Hive is a permissionless blockchain, so nobody can stop you from cross-posting AI-assisted content, but the Hive community actively downvotes AI-generated posts, which removes their rewards (see the Hivewatchers guidelines about AI content). We therefore recommend using no AI at all on posts that you cross-post to Hive.
