Hello there, wholesome reader!

Whenever I travel, I make sure to visit any artsy place within the area. I am such a sucker for art and anything related to it is definitely a yes for me!

I was so excited when I planned for our Tacloban trip and found this art + history cafe in the heart of the city. Aside from it being a unique cafe, I was giddy about seeing what their mini museum has to offer as things salvaged from the past always fascinate me.

Fast forward to the time when we visited the cafe, it was just how I saw it online. There were art pieces hung on the walls of the cafe, a collection of vintage memorabilia, and the smell of coffee welcoming guests as they enter the shop. Everything seemed to be in place.

The cafe is a two-storey building. On the ground floor is the cafe itself and on the second floor is their mini museum.

The mini museum was impressive with the amount of artifacts they have. A variety of things can be found here: from old bottles of known beverages; to different models of vintage cameras; to a collection of Philippine Peso coins and bills; and the other old stuff they have.

Honestly, I was not able to focus on the drink I ordered as I enjoyed reading and looking at the collections that were probably way older than me. It felt like history, including the people hung on these picture frames, suddenly came alive. You'll really see the rich heritage of the city and of our country by visiting this place as it pays homage to these things.

Given that we arrived here an hour before its closing time, I only had a very limited time to look around and time-travel back to the days where these things and people came from. Nonetheless, I was very happy that we were able to insert this in our itinerary.

If given the chance to visit Tacloban City again, I will definitely visit this place for the second time and intend to focus on the food and drinks this time. And hopefully, I'd get to stay a little longer and absorb all the creativity and history engulfed in this one-of-a-kind coffee shop.

Thank you for reading my post up to this point. I hope you have a great time ahead!

I'll take delight in writing for you again soon.

Love,
Sam ♡
