Last Saturday, the Spanish King's Cup Final took place, featuring Real Madrid and Barcelona: El Clásico.

In Cuba, for a few years now, football broadcasts have become more common, allowing people to gather and enjoy the game. Ten years ago, not far back, this was impossible.

Although we haven't had much time to watch football or enjoy quiet relaxing nights, we decided that this was an opportunity we couldn't miss.

We had to watch El Clásico together!!

Something we hadn't done in six years.

But every day brings us closer to graduation.

Then, due to life's circumstances, we will part ways and each will take their own path.

Friendship will continue, but it will never be the same, so we must make the most of every opportunity to get together.

What better than a rivalry like that of Barcelona and Madrid?

If you're wondering, my team is Real Madrid. A love inherited from my grandfather and my father. And yes! I suffered through the final, but I also enjoyed it to the fullest, let’s get back to that...

To gather, we chose La Cátedral.

A restaurant located in Vedado, Havana (I'll leave the exact location in the pin).

The prices here are quite reasonable, considering the craziness seen in other places of similar quality in the city.

The most important thing: 500 ml of beer for just over 1 USD. With that alone, the visit was more than justified.

This place has become our favorite spot, so they already know us and did us the favor of reserving a table, anticipating that the place would fill up with fans.

It did; they had to close the doors because there was no room for anyone else.

We arrived a bit earlier to avoid being left outside and to enjoy a little calm before the match.

Even though we see each other every day, it feels like we never get tired of seeing each other and laughing. Do you have friends like that too?

Being in the terrace area was enjoyable, or maybe the beers helped with that, who knows.

Of course, drinking on an empty stomach is not good, so it was time to put food on the table.

This time, we chose the bread with pork (pan con lechón) what could be more typical of Cuba than this?

It was the first time we ordered it, as it was a new offer on the menu.

I must say it was the best decision of the evening. It was delicious. The meat was prepared with the utmost care.

Highly recommended. Its price? 4.5 USD (at the informal rate) for Cubans 1500 CUP.

So, we could enjoy a good final.

We ordered some snacks to keep enjoying the match (in my case, suffering through it).

The bill for 5 people didn't exceed 28 USD (would it be expensive or cheap in your country?)

The only downside was that the TV signal wasn’t the best.

Due to power outages in the area, the signal was weak and suffered interruptions. But these are things we are already used to.

If you prefer more tranquility, La Cátedral has a bar mimicking English pubs and some tables inside, to enjoy a climate-controlled environment.

That’s not our style; we prefer the terrace with beers and everyday conversations.

What type are you? Team outdoor or team indoor?

It felt really good to return to La Cátedral and do it with your friends and schoolmates; it’s even better.

These are the moments that help us cope with the burdens of the week, the stress of the hospital, and the scarcity.

In the midst of all this chaos, this is our refuge.

And before you reach the end, I’d like to ask you when was the last time you went out with friends? If it was a long time ago, what are you waiting for to plan one?

Tomorrow we won’t know if we’ll be here, so make the most of your time with your loved ones.

My team lost again to their rival, but I enjoyed it so much that the result didn’t matter.

A different Clásico.

Now, read you soon!

At La Catedral, they accept transfers (for Cubans) and also accept Tropipay.
