Hello, dear Hivers!

As we continued our journey through Ilocos, we finally came to the part where the kids were most excited: beach time! After a long and full of adventure day of exploring the breathtaking sights of Ilocos, we waited for a beautiful sunset by the beach and enjoyed the calming waves and the afternoon breeze on the coast.

Our accommodation is just a 3-minute drive from the beach, so we dropped our luggage first, checked in, changed into swimming clothes, my husband grabbed the kids floaters, and I just grabbed the tripod, bag of chips, and my phone, and we headed out, ready to swim.

This is the most unprepared time we spent by the beach. There was no comfy cottage, no chair to sit in, and, above all, no homecooked food to savpr, but we didn't mind. The kids were so busy enjoying the water that they didn't even think to ask for anything. Laying on the sand, sharing the only bag of chips we had, and having the most random conversation while watching the sunset with the delighted laughs of the kids dipping in the salty sea is my favorite part of this experience.

This is actually the second beach we visited in Pagudpud, Ilocos, but the kids were not encouraged to swim on the first one; the waves were too rough for kids to swim or not as calm as on this one. We just took pictures there and then moved to the next location, plus the tour guide also said the first one isn't a good spot to view the sunset.

We stayed until the sun finally set, watching the skies change from a vibrant, vivid sunset hue to the darkness of early night. The crystal-clear water is perfectly reflecting the gorgeous hue of the clouds. Even though the kids aren't ready to get out of the water, but we have to go and take a rest as we will be up early the next day for another packed day of exploration.
