Hi Steemians!

Let me start the next leg of my journey through Ecuador. So I took a 5 hour drive from Guayaquil to the city of Canar, located on the Pan-American road in the high Andes.

After I crossed the bridge see part 1, connecting the two parts of the city, I arrived in kind of very exotic world.

On both sides of the road, till the end of the horizon I could see countless banana plantations!!! I was woow, taking into account that I have never before seen a banana tree. Ecuador is well known, as one of the top, if not even number one banana producer in the world. Bonita and Chiquita are famous trade marks all over the world.
The banana forests were partially cut by the small cities and villages, that were scattered on the way to the Andes.

One hour driving through the banana jungles and I was at the footstep of the majestic Andes. Before my eyes stood the high peaks, rising like monsters into the sky.

The population is about 50 000, and big percentage of it are the native Canari people, whose mother language is Kechua. I was amazed that they managed to keep up to this days many cultural tradition of the Inca.By the time of the conquest by the Spaniards - the Kechua people had developed at that time one of the most advanced culture in America.
