This summer I had an extremely enjoyable hike to the mouth of the Ropotamo River, which I will tell you about in this Wednesday walk.

The place is known for its unique beauty. It is located in a protected area among longose forests, reeds and swamps. It can be reached by several routes and I chose to reach it via Cape Kaya.

I arrived at Arcutino beach early in the morning. The area was deserted and so peaceful.

I walked through the sand dunes observing the interesting vegetation.

The sea was beautiful and slightly agitated.

I headed towards the end of the beach, from where I assumed I should find the path that would take me to the mouth of Ropotamo.

The stones on the sand got bigger.

I started to climb the rocks and the path seemed to reveal itself to me.

I stopped to admire the view of the sea.

It got pretty steep in places and I had to be careful.

Soon I came to beautiful protruding rocks with inert shapes and realized that I was at Cape Kaya.

Soon after I entered the forest.

How incredibly beautiful this stretch was. Around me, a variety of forest vegetation revealed its magnificence.

I saw an abundance of bushes, trees and various plants.

There followed an alternation of open areas with unique rock formations and forest massifs.

I stopped and enjoyed the views.

At one of the successive entrances into the forest, a view of Ropotamo opened up on my right. I detoured slightly for minutes to enjoy this view as well.

I soon reached the sands of Ropotamo Beach.

Sea Wormwood abounded here. A plant with a specific smell, valued for its medicinal properties. It was surrounded by tufts of sand lilies.

The beach, which is located in the protected area of Ropotamo, is one of the few preserved beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. There is no direct vehicular access to it and it involves a long hike, although there is another route that is not as scenic as the one I chose.

The place where the river flows into the sea.

On the opposite bank, you can see the pier, where the boats transport passengers along the river.

I continued along the shore and saw some interesting branches and anchored boats.

I guess you liked my walk along this part of the Black Sea coast. I hope to visit this place again next time by taking the other route as well.

It was time to go back, and here the first tourists on the beach started to arrive.
