Welcome back, I'm afraid this isn't going to be my best blog. Well, at least I don't think so; but I thought I'd warn you in advance.
Here goes.
From my stay at Dunedin, I managed to get a coach to Queenstown.
Now unfortunately I get travel sick quite easily so this wasn't an easy decision for me. Coaches in particular can be really bad because of the unnecessarily soft suspension. Honestly, you go over the tiniest bump and the thing bounces about 6 times. Might as well be on a boat.
Luckily I managed to pick up these tablets which did the trick.
The journy
The journey itself wasn't that bad. From Dunedin to Queenstown it's about 279 kilometers give or take and with no stops takes about 3 and a half hours. Thankfully we did stop for a much needed 20 minute break and stretch.
From this point onwards the Landscape started to change and I started to get some nice scenic views.
There was a section of the journey where the road ran along side several rivers and gorges. They were an incredible sight.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture as I was on the wrong side and alot of people were standing up drueling on the windows. (Typical tourists) You know....the one's you just wanna punch in the face because they have no awareness or care of anyone else.
Anyway...
Thanks to Google I can show you what I meant.
The road is simply Cromwell-Clyde Road. Type that in on Google Maps and you'll see what I mean by the scenic route.
As you can see it wasn't just a boring motorway journey. Very few roads in New Zealand are "boring" in terms of the views.
Finally we arrived at Queenstown where the real adventure was about to begin...
Queenstown was a base for at least a week and from here my overal opinion of New Zealand completely changed....
Thank you for stopping by.
Till next time...
