Monochrome Monday a few edits from recent walks around New Bedford MA
Good Morning, I hope your weekend went well,
Today I will share a few Monochrome edits from photos taken on various recent walks
Starting with the top of the Whaling and Industry Monument (also known as the Barnard Monument or Barnard Memorial) which is in Buttonwood Park, here in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
It was sculpted by George Julian Zolnay, and was dedicated on September 19, 1914, as a gift from George D. Barnard,

And next up at the port, sometimes a photo calls to stay in color, and sometimes a mono edit brings our focus more on the details.

Here we are in the historic district, and even though there was some nice color in the sky, I felt for this one, a mono edit gave a more timeless feel, especially when I edited out the cars parked on the street
The building is the Cummings Building, originally erected in 1857 by brothers William and Benjamin Cummings, the building served as a prominent wholesale and retail dry goods and grocery center in the 19th century. After a fire around 1914, the upper facade and components were modified.
Today, it houses local spots including the popular No Problemo Tex-Mex restaurant, as well as The Cummings Building Artists Studios

And at the port for this next photo, one of the tugs, Emma Nicole, is in the foreground and the crystal ice building behind, but for me it's the reflections that catch my eye.

and this is the Zeiteron Performing Arts Center, recently refurbished, but built in 1923 by the Zeitz family as a vaudeville and movie palace
