Greetings friends, we are having great spring weather, sunny and warm. Soon the weather forecasters promise a slight cooling, but so far the daytime temperatures have stayed around +10, and sometimes go even higher, up to +15. This is very warm for our northern city - I don't remember another spring as warm as this one. I decided to take a walk through the city streets this time. I started my walk on the embankment of Griboedov Canal, went to the Nikolsky Sea Cathedral, then moved towards Zvenigorodskaya Street and finished my walk on the central street of the city, Nevsky Prospekt.

The good weather signalled the start of a new season for many cyclists. I also cycled a bit along the embankments on one of the warm days, but this time I walked. But I couldn't help but notice how the number of cyclists on city streets has increased. I think about ten years ago there were far fewer cyclists, even in good weather. Perhaps we have climate change to thank. But perhaps climate is not the main reason, perhaps this process has economic realities at its core - bike couriers have started to take over the market recently.

Thanks to the warm weather, there is little snow left on the streets and in gardens. But some of the city's water bodies are still covered in ice. The baby seal season has begun in the Gulf of Finland. Mother seals feed their cubs on the ice. But because the ice melts too early, some of the cubs are left without parental care too soon. We have a service to help baby Baltic seals. I looked carefully at the city's water bodies during my walk. Sometimes baby seals swim into the city, in which case it is important to help them in time.

I remembered that I had seen a sculpture of a girl in one of the courtyards a few years ago. The gate to the courtyard was open and I went in to see if the sculpture was still there. It is one of the city's monuments with a secret fate. This sculpture used to stand in another courtyard, about two kilometres away from this one. Then this sculpture was moved by unknown people to a new place. There are several other sculptures in the city whose history of creation remains a mystery.

At the end of the walk, I came out onto the city's central street, Nevsky Prospekt. It was crowded here, as always. People were dressed very differently. Someone left warm clothes at home and feels great. Others do not trust the spring warmth and continue to walk in down jackets. The advertisement above the entrance to the cafe unobtrusively advertises spacesuits as universal clothing.
