The most beautiful month of winter is March. Winter becomes very beautiful the moment it ends. The sun shines from morning to evening, you throw your head back and see a huge dome of bright blue sky. The snow melts, the ice melts, but a few days are not enough to melt all the snow and ice. Especially since the nights are still cold, and it is not uncommon to see fresh, pure snow falling at night. This snow shines and sparkles in the bright sunshine. The most beautiful winter scenery can be seen just in the spring, in March.

On this day, the weather was beautifully sunny and I decided to take a walk to the bay. There are several spaces with promenades for walking on the bay, I chose Sevkabel Port. ‘Sevkabel’ stands for ’Northern Cable Works.’ A few years ago the production moved to another site and the old factory buildings became a creative space. The huge workshop on the shore of the Gulf of Finland became an ideal place for large-scale exhibitions. Other buildings house creative studios, workshops, shops and cafés.

The large area between the main workshop and the bar line becomes an ice-skating rink in winter. A tall slide is installed nearby. I must confess that the main purpose of my walk was this particular slide. The season is coming to an end, the slide and ice-skating rink will stop working in a few days, and I wanted to ride down the slide for the last time this season.

The embankment of Sevkabel Port is a super popular place in summer, it's always crowded. But on this day it was cold and windy, it's not the kind of weather when you want to admire the sea scenery. Luckily, I was warmly dressed and didn't suffer too much from the icy wind gusts. The recipe is simple: a woollen hat, plus a woollen scarf, plus a hood, and your ears don't get cold at all. I even took a picture of myself in the huge mirror on the pavilion wall. Figure skaters chose another way to warm up - active movements cope with the feeling of cold even more reliably than warm clothes. There were quite a lot of people on the ice-skating rink on this beautiful sunny day.
