Vacations in Merida, Venezuela
Hello welcome to my post this Thursday of remembrance, this is my first publication in the community, it makes me happy to remember the beautiful moments and sometimes will be some sad ones that are part of my life and thanks to them I have become the person I am, because all these experiences are what make us grow and define our personality, I appreciate the invitation of @jesuslnrs to participate in the initiative of #TBT and took the opportunity to invite @madefrance and @jonsnow1983 to join this Thursday or the next ones.
It's nice to remember because as the popular saying goes "to remember is to live" or to relive special moments, but it's also a difficult task for content creators, since we usually use our photos without reservation and finding new material, I mean images or videos that have not been used before is little unusual; however, if we search well we will find some treasures that have not come to light, that's why I bring you a #TBT from my vacation in Merida.
I like to remember pleasant moments, mostly from vacations, we all love vacations, right! My country Venezuela is beautiful, we have everything we dream of seeing and touching: there is jungle, sea, desert, plain, snow, and much more. Currently, where I am is having a very hot summer, so I decided to take a cool bath below zero of memories. 😁😅
Lighting the fireplace
I imagine that for many people lighting the fireplace is part of their daily life, they must have one in the living room of their house and they light it every day. In my country fireplaces are used in December time as part of the Christmas decoration, many are made of cardboard and anime, obviously you can't light them 😆, but if you go to the moors of Merida, some inns have a real one that is lit with real wood 🤣.
I remember on this vacation I was traveling with some coworkers, we were so close friends that on our vacations we would see each other regularly and go on a trip. On this occasion we went 5 coworkers to visit Merida which is one of the states of the Andes mountain range. The first night we were offered a heated room or one with a real fireplace. As we wanted to live the full experience, we decided for the one with the fireplace, later we regretted it, especially me 😫🥹😭.
It was my first time in a temperature below 0, in the pictures you can't tell, but I was wearing two pants, two flannels, two coats, scarf, gloves and balaclava and not even with blankets and the heat of the fireplace I could sleep the two nights we spent there, they even lent me a balaclava that covered my whole face and the only holes were for the eyes. 👀
To light the fireplace we had to buy firewood and we exaggerated a bit in the amount, but it was not enough to keep the heat all night. None of them knew how to light the wood, some gave up, but I would not give up, the cold was killing me. After many attempts, it ignited, but it looked like the logs were made of paper and burned very fast. 😥.
Lighting the fireplace was as difficult as fun, we all wanted photos in the fireplace and it occurred to us to use the cap upside down so that the Venezuelan flag came out was the photo that I liked the most, these photos also bring me a little nostalgia because in them appears a friend who is no longer among us, she is the one with the candle in her hand, my dear Diana, she sees me from heaven.
On the coldest night, we were told that it snowed at 3 am. The group wanted to play with the snow, but no one noticed, we were stiff from the cold in our beds. Some regretted not noticing the snowfall event, although it was what my spirit wanted most, I was not so brave at that time. This concludes my Thursday of remembrance, thank you for joining me.

Vacaciones en Mérida, Venezuela Hola bienvenido a mi post este jueves de recuerdo, esta es mi primera publicación en la comunidad, me hace feliz recordar los momentos bonitos y a veces serán algunos tristes que forman parte de mi vida y gracias a ellos me he convertido en la persona que soy, porque todas estas experiencias son las que nos hacen crecer y definir nuestra personalidad, agradezco la invitación de @jesuslnrs a participar de la iniciativa de #TBT y aprovechó de invitar a @madefrance y a @jonsnow1983 a que se unan este jueves o los próximos.
Es bonito recordar porque como dice el refrán popular “recordar es vivir” o volver a vivir momentos especiales, pero también es una tarea difícil para los creadores de contenido, ya que por lo general usamos nuestras fotos sin reservas y encontrar material nuevo, me refiero a imágenes o videos que no se hayan usado antes es poco inusual; sin embargo, si buscamos bien encontraremos algunos tesoros que no han salido a la luz, por eso les traigo un #TBT de mis vacaciones por Mérida.
Me gusta recordar momentos placenteros, en su mayoría de vacaciones. ¡A todos nos gustan las vacaciones, verdad! Mi país Venezuela es hermoso, tenemos todo lo que soñamos ver y tocar: hay selva, mar, desierto, llano, nieve, y mucho más. Actualmente, donde me encuentro está haciendo un verano muy caluroso, así que decidí darme un baño fresco bajo cero de recuerdos. 😁😅
Encendido de la chimenea Me imagino que para muchas personas encender la chimenea es parte de su diario vivir, deben tener una en la sala de su casa y la encienden todos los días. En mi país las chimeneas son usadas en la época de diciembre como parte de la decoración navideña, muchas son de cartón y anime, obviamente no se pueden prender 😆, pero si vas a los páramos de Mérida, algunas posadas tienen una de verdad que se enciende con madera real 🤣.
Recuerdo que en estas vacaciones yo viajaba con algunas compañeras de trabajo, éramos tan amigas que en nuestras vacaciones nos veíamos regularmente y nos íbamos de viaje. En esta ocasión fuimos 5 compañeras a conocer a Mérida que es uno de los estados de la cordillera de los Andes. La primera noche nos propusieron tener una habitación con calefacción o una con chimenea real. Como queríamos vivir la experiencia completa, nos decidimos por la que tenía la chimenea, después nos arrepentimos, sobre todo yo 😫🥹😭
Era mi primera vez en una temperatura bajo 0, en las fotos no se nota, pero tenía puesto dos pantalones, dos franelas, dos abrimos, bufanda, guantes y pasamontañas y ni con mantas y el calor de la chimenea pude dormir las dos noches que allí pasamos, hasta llegaron a prestarme un pasamontañas que cubría toda la cara y los únicos agujeros eran para los ojos. 👀
Para encender la chimenea tuvimos que comprar leña y exageramos un poco en la cantidad, pero no fue suficiente para mantener el calor toda la noche. Ninguna sabía encender la madera, algunas desistieron, pero yo no me daría por vencida, el frío me estaba matando. Después de muchos intentos, prendió, pero parecía que los troncos eran de papel y se quemaron con mucha velocidad. 😥.
Encender la chimenea fue tan difícil como divertido, todas queríamos fotos en la chimenea y se nos ocurrió usar el gorro al revés para que saliera la bandera de Venezuela fue la foto que más me gusto, estas fotos también me traen un poco de nostalgia porque en ellas aparece una amiga que ya no está entre nosotros, es la que tiene la vela en la mano, mi querida Diana, me ve desde el cielo.
En la noche más fría, nos dijeron que nevó a las 3 a. m. El grupo quería jugar con la nieve, pero nadie se dio cuenta, estábamos tiesas del frío en nuestras camas. Algunas lamentaron no darse cuenta del evento de la nevada, aunque era lo que más deseaba mi espíritu, no era tan valiente en esa época. Con esto finaliza mi jueves de recuerdo, gracias por acompañarme.
