La bora tiene hojas impermeables que es usada por los indígenas del Delta del Orinoco para hacer sombreros y otras artesanías, esta planta viaja kilómetros arrastrados por el viento y las corrientes del río, en algunas partes florece y regala a quien la mira la belleza de su flor.
