A popular trekking route in Bangladesh, Harimmala Hatbanga Trail in Sitakunda, Chittagong offers stunning natural beauty and a rewarding trekking experience. The trail is in the foothills of Sitakunda, known for its lush forests, waterfalls, and mountainous terrain.

The trail starts from Harimmala village, about 20 kilometers from Chittagong city. From there, follow winding paths through dense forest, crossing several streams and waterfalls before reaching the village of Hatubanga. The total length of the trail is about 12 km and it takes about 6-7 hours to complete the trek.

The Harimmala Hatubhanga Trail offers a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Sitakunda, home to several rare species of flora and fauna. Along the way, hikers will encounter a variety of birds, butterflies, monkeys, and may even spot wild elephants known to inhabit the area.

One of the highlights of the trail are the stunning waterfalls that line the route. The most famous of these is Nafa Kum Waterfall, about halfway down the trail. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 30 meters, forming a pool at the bottom where visitors can take a refreshing dip in the cool, clear water.

This trail is not for the faint of heart as it can be quite challenging in places. The trail has steep sections that require hikers to watch their step and scramble over rocks and debris. However, the views from the top are breathtaking, so the reward for making it to the end is worth the effort.

The Harin Malahattuvanga Trail is best during the winter months of November to February when the climate is mild and dry. Hikers are advised to wear sturdy walking shoes, bring plenty of water, and pack snacks to keep them energized along the way.

The journey begins with waking up. The decoration was supposed to be at 7:30, I woke up and saw that it was 7:20... I hurriedly got ready and left... Around 7:40 everyone came one by one. We were 5...3 from Alankar and 2 from Bhatiali.

However, I went to Sitakunda Bazar by bus... I was very hungry... Most of the hotels and restaurants were closed due to Eid... I found a vegetarian hotel in front of me... I ate bread and pulses there... The food was very tasty. ...Going out from there I had pure cow's milk tea at another shop..I had tea and went to Chhota Darogar Hut... From here the journey towards Sahasradhara 2 started.

After walking for a while, Tipu Bhai saw a date palm tree. When I went to pick dates, Jahangir Bhai, a farmer from the neighboring village, came and helped me. The funniest part was...when I saw his name written in English with henna...then everyone said..who wrote it?...the poor guy turned red with shame and said...someone is writing...then everyone was wondering. Screaming that he was writing, the poor man turned red with shame and kept laughing...

After walking for 30 minutes I got to Sahasradhara Dam..I took a short break there and started towards the waterfall. We have to cross... Anyway, instead of going on the water path, we went on the hilly path for some distance... Then we 3 sat down and the other 2 went to the spring to bring the boat.... because those who went before left the boat there.. anyway after 10 minutes by boat reached the waterfall..... there from 20-30 minutes then by boat back to the dam...that was the fun part...

The boat goes once to the right and once to the left.

After that I came back to Chhota Darogar Hat Bazar around 2 pm...and after looking for a hotel I found a small hotel...anyway I had lunch with egg-potato rice and raw chilli brought from that side of Tipu Bhai's fountain. .....

From there I went to the small Kamaldah market by tempu... I walked a little ahead of the market and found the road leading to the fountain... After walking for 20 minutes from there I found Nilambar lake but there is no water in the lake at all..

Anyway I sat there for a while and left for Harinmara and Hatuvanga springs... After walking for 10 minutes along the trail I got to the junction...Harinmara on the right and Hatuvanga on the left...first I went to Harinmara....and the most beautiful of the 3 springs. I got .... and there was no one but us....... Then I saw Jok father sitting on his feet and drinking blood... 2 of us were attacked by leech....

Anyway I went towards Hatubhanga... there was very little water there.. anyway from there for 5 minutes then I started on the way back... but there was a problem... it was very difficult to walk as I came to the wrong road... after that at a place When I went, my feet got stuck in the mud up to my knees...I couldn't go forward.....I was going backwards because I didn't have enough strength....I had shoes in my hand...then I threw the shoes away .... 2 minutes I stood and rested...then ran with all my might up the hill and came back to the previous road with mud all over my bodi.

However, I had to walk the rest of the way without shoes..I reached Chota Kamaldah bazar by afternoon...from there by tempu to Sitakunda and bus from Sitakunda bazar to town....
