The Tropic of Capricorn is one of my favourite invisible lines to cross from South going North.
My friend and I were on our way to a town called Serowe, Botswana. We had been driving since 8am in the morning so by 5:30pm in the afternoon we were getting a little fatigued. Along the A1 just before Mahalapye traveling from Gaborone, there is a rock monument that signals you are about to enter the Tropics.
This seemed like an obvious place for both of us to stop as it would be the first time to visit the landmark and took the opportunity to take some fun photographs.
The bonus of stopping here was the available street food, we were also needing to eat by this point. Supporting local people when we travel is important to us because they are trying their best to feed their families.
The starch has a slight sour taste to it which was interesting but very edible. Highly recommend trying it out.
We also cannot resist a moment to take some selfies to send to friends as we progress on the journey. The two of us have not seen each other since the start of Covid so this was a celebration. This is dated mid November 2021.
