This short walk starts at the train station of Traismauer. The walk through cellar alleys, woodland and vineyards has a length of 2.0 kilometers. You will need about 30 minutes for it.
From there you walk through the Bahnhofstraße, then through the Venusberger Straße, then up the Schulerbergstraße and finally through the Waldandachtsstraße. There are a lot of wine cellars alongside this street.
Then you turn off and walk through the wood.
After a little ascent you turn off right…
and walk to the Waldandacht. This is a small prayer place in the wood with a wooden image of Mother Mary on a tree trunk. Below the image a prayer stool has been placed.
Then you go back to the way through the wood. After some time you reach the vineyards.
At the end of the way you turn right into the crossing street.
At the next crossing you turn right.
The way through the vineyard, then becomes a hollow way,…
and finally a cellar alley called "Vorberg-Kellergasse".
Between wine cellars you can see a statue of Holy Urbanus.
Before the Vorberg-Kellergasse ends at the Waldandachtsgasse, you have a beautiful view on Traismauer. Traismauer is a very old town founded in the times of the Roman Empire. The oldest buildings in Traismauer are more than 1,600 years old!
