Fishing and Swimming at Petrakis

This is a great beach to spend a day. We were lucky to have found Petrakis Beach. It is located at the beach in Lefkimmi, Corfu.

We had to take the ferry from the Greek Island to come to this side of the Island on Corfu.

Once you get off the ferry, you head to the southern end and go along the eastern coast where all the beaches are.

I find that this is a great beach and place for family to spend their vacation together. There are enough sports activities for both children, the young and also the older people who love fishing.

On the one side of the beach, the water is quite shallow and it is suitable for swimming.

And as you swim further away, you will suddenly feel a big dip.

All the seas are like that. So you need to be careful and know where it suddenly goes deep.

I always like to go on to the deeper end because it s much easier to swim.

But if you have children, it becomes a good beach for them to make use of the long shallow water here.

I see them building sand castles and running into the water very safely.

On the other side of the beach, I see people fishing there because the water there is much deeper. That is also a great activity after swimming.

When it comes to fishing, you need to wait and sit back and wait for the bite.

I don't have that kind of patience but I see a lot of people enjoying fishing and we all cheer for them whenever they get a catch.

They are small yellow fish.

They make great soup.
