The preparation started on the 22nd packing the car and getting a few hours of sleep in the afternoon to cope with the first day drive. 

We got up at 11 pm to make a couple of coffess for the trip and at 12am of the 23 we were ready and leaving the garage in Southport, Gold Coast. 

The last stop in Southport to guarantee that the tank was full and off we go!

We had a great run and I drove for more than 5 hours nonstop, as the 5 months old passenger Luca was sleeping like an angel. Around 6 am or 7 am in local NSW time, then I filled out the tank in Taree 

Next stop was in Sydney, Rouse Hill, for coffess, lunch and desert. After 3 hours in Sydney time to hit the road again. 

Now was time to stop in Goulburn, the place we booked an accommodation to spend the night there. At 1:15am of the 24th we left towards Victoria with a quick stop in Yass to refill, it was time to face near 7 more hours.

Day 1 in Melbourne, been to charcoal chicken and and a great Vietnamese pho. Visited a great little pub there
