Despite the fact that bad weather and rain were reported for the weekend, it did not discourage me to go on a hike to the Slovak Paradise. Every year my colleague and I choose one gorge and go on a winter march. This winter we chose the gorge Suchá Bela.

We leave in the morning in rainy weather. Meteorologists were right. Fortunately, the rain is not heavy and we are wearing waterproof clothing. We arrive at the parking lot in Podlesok, where our tour begins.

I avoid this gorge during the summer tourist season. This is because there are a lot of people. People follow each other in line and wait long minutes under the ladders to climb up.

Today we arrive at an empty parking lot. Looks like no one's as crazy as we are. Everyone prefers to sit at home in the heat.

The fact that we are here alone pleased me. We have the whole gorge to ourselves and we can enjoy this hike in peace.

We enter the forest almost immediately. The rain melted all the snow that had fallen so far, but the ice remained. That is why we put on tourist cats and walk up the gorge along the creek bed.

Beautiful ice decoration is at every step. It's a pity it's raining. I try to keep the camera as dry as possible and I only pick it up when we stop at really breathtaking waterfalls and ice formations.

The first of the waterfalls are Misova waterfalls. The waterfalls are now large ice falls.

The charm of this place is also given by the cramped spaces. Moving between ice formations in cramped conditions is beautiful.

We climb up the gorge and from time to time we come across small holes in the rocks in which there is such beauty.

I wrote about cramped spaces a while ago, but this one was really worth it. With my wide bag, I had trouble crossing this narrow crevice.

Okienkovy waterfall is another waterfall, respectively an icefall in a row.

A few meters off the hiking trail is a side waterfall. One is more beautiful than the other.

In the end, we see a rock overhang from which such beautiful ice cencils are sown.

Crossing Suchá Belá in winter is a real experience. The hike is about three hours long and does not require physical strength. Of course, in winter it is necessary to have good equipment with you, because just without tourist cats we would not get far. We could turn around under the first icefall.

well thank you
