Trip to Warsaw - 2.day

The next day we choose to get to know the wider center of Warsaw and places we did not have time to visit in the center.

Our steps lead to a nearby Saski's Garden.

Warsaw does not forget the recreation areas and the city has several parks and gardens.

In addition to a pond, a chateau, beautiful flower beds, statues and a fountain, there is also a Monument to an Unknown Soldier in ours.

It is a memory of all the unknown soldiers who fell for the defense of Poland. Monument guards the honor guard.

Around the presidential palace we return to the old town, where we walked yesterday.

The previous day, all the churches were closed, but since we wanted to see them, we were here.

We enter the Church of St. Anne, which is located opposite the Royal Palace. It is a large church in which, in addition to services, various concerts are regularly held.

The most famous sacral monument in Warsaw is the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.

Although this basilica is not as richly decorated as St. Anne's Church, it hides great wealth in its basement. The princes of Mazovia, King Stanislav August Poniatovski, the poet Henryk Sienkievich, and many other important personalities are buried in its catacombs.

From the Basilica we continue around the Warsaw Uprising Monument, which is a symbol of the struggle of the people of Warsaw against the Nazis during the Second World War.

We enter another park, where the Krasiński Palace is located. This 17th-century palace, with its large gardens, is an ideal place to relax. We also present ourselves here. We sit on a bench, from which we have a nice view of the palace, choose packed food from a bag and start eating.

The park is large, so in addition to eating, it took us a while to walk through it.

We walk across the road, across one street, and another, small park appeared in front of us. It includes the Monument to the Heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, the Jewish Uprising in 1943, and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Due to lack of time, we miss the entrance to the museum and after taking pictures of the monument we go to the subway.

For the first time, we use public transport to get to the next point of today's trip, and that is the Jewish Synagogue. We came to her just in time. It was cloudy all day and it drizzled in places, but this time the sky fell on us. There was a good cloudburst over the city and we had plenty of time to look at the synagogue to the last detail.

It was getting dark outside, we looked at the synagogue and we are going to accommodation. We use the metro again and get off at the nearest stop for our accommodation. It is located by the Vistula River, where there is also a large statue of the Mermaid. I capture it in a photo in the background with the Polish national football stadium.
