I had the opportunity to visit the historic city of Olomouc, located in the Czech Republic, on the occasion of a friend's wedding.
I like history, so I set aside time to tour the city. My wife is not very interested in history, but I often keep me company during my trips. It was no different now. I learned about the city and in addition, we have a guide with us. A friend from us who works in a nearby town.
I park in a parking lot near the city center, where the most important historic building is located. All three of us talk and enjoy a nice day. It doesn't take long and we come to the square.
Our attention was drawn to a two-storey building built in the middle of the pedestrian zone. It is a historic town hall. The town hall was and is a symbol of the power and wealth of the royal city.
From the side of the town hall we see the astronomical clock. It is the second oldest astronomical clock in the Czech Republic.
However, the biggest jewel of Olomouc is located near the town hall. It is the Column of the Holy Trinity. This plague column is listed in UNESCO. Architecturally, it has been reworked to the smallest detail and there is a small chapel inside.
It was consecrated in 1754. The Austrian Empress Maria Theresa and her husband, Emperor Francis I, Stefan Lorraine, also took part in this event.
The weather is starting to get bad. So we continue our tour of the city and our steps make peace to the Cathedral of St. Wenceslas. It is a beautiful sacral building. I take pictures of her from every side, but the weather doesn't want us and it's starting to rain.
Time is pushing us and we have no choice but to end the tour and return to accommodation.
The city attracted me so much that I decided to return to the square in the evening. I'm happy because the night shots are worth it.
Thanks you
