I wrote a thesis about the Raven Rock in the Slovak Paradise National Park at the University, but I did not get on the hike until after it was finished.

Raven rock is one of the highest peaks in the Slovak Paradise, which as a guardian rises above the trees that surround it.

In the morning we arrive in the village Stratená. In this picturesque village, our hike begins. 8.6 km with an elevation gain of 530 meters above sea level awaits us.

We walk between two rock cliffs, as if it were an entrance gate, and enter the forest.

Coniferous forest with beech forest alternates here and as we go in the spring, we have a nice visibility far and wide. But I must admit that beech forests have their charm.

We climb slightly and from time to time we come across an interesting old tree overgrown with mushrooms.

Or as in this case to an interesting rock formation.

There are several rock formations and also many small interesting caves.

The ascent is becoming more and more challenging. The fallen beech leaves, which survived the winter, are partly to blame. It slips on them as if we were walking on ice.

The reward is a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

And not just that. It is no coincidence that we went on this tour at this time. The rare Pulsatilla, which I wanted to take a picture of, is growing on Raven rock. I did it too.

On the way down we find another interesting plant. The whole meadow was sown with saffron.

Satisfied and happy with a beautiful experience, we return to the car and go home.

Well thank you.
