Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!

Today is the last Sunday of this year and just like with a vast majority of the previous Sundays here on my Steem blog, it is my pleasure to brighten up the rest of your weekend with yet another sunset picture.

When capturing sunsets here on the Azore Islands, I usually use the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop for the scenery but my today´s contribution to the Golden Hour series will be a bit different as the body of water featured in this shot is actually a lake.

This beautiful lake is called Lagoa Azul in the Portuguese language, which means the Blue Lake. Situated in a crater of a huge dormant volcano right next to the picturesque little town of Sete Cidades, the lake is known for stunningly beautiful natural surroundings that I have already written about in some of my previous posts.

Talking about the islands, I am sorry for not posting another episode of my Beauties of Azores series this week but being amid the Christmas season, I really wanted to come up with those Christmas specials to tell you more about how we celebrate this holiday in my Czech homeland. You can check those special Christmas posts here, here and here.

I am definitely not going to miss out on the Beauties of Azores series next week again so you can expect a new episode coming soon (probably on Wednesday or Thursday).
