A few days ago my husband and I went to the mountains to try a place that I reviewed just today in the food community Here is the link, after lunch since I really like churches and religious art we decided to a short walk nearby to see if there were churches to visit and we found this which is the main church of the town, called the Propositura church, Catholic and founded around the year 1000, the church from the outside has a bell tower which is also noticeable from afar and is located in a small, somewhat hidden square, an old parish church. This church has a long history of architectural changes and expansions and inside it has a relic of Santa Celestina (patron saint of the town itself) which is brought out during the same festival.

In 1700 the church was redefined again by the bishop of Pistoia who wanted to bring the small church to an essential image without many frills, without opulence and richness of decorations, even today from this rather simple image, there are certainly some frescoes, statues, niches votive but on the other hand the rest appears simple. There are four altars on the walls dedicated to Saint Anthony, the sacred heart, Mother Mary and Saint Joseph. Inside, the wall painting by Gricci is very beautiful and the walls themselves in fake yellow marble and stucco are also very suggestive. To visit this little church it doesn't take long, about half an hour but it's really nice to see if you happen to be in San Marcello it's worth a visit.
