This was the second parkrun launched in Australia back in 2011 and the first one in the Brisbane area. It is one of my favourites as it is run along a really nice section of the Brisbane River board walk and there is a great farmers markets you can visit straight afterward at the old Power House. This trip was there 611th event and my third time there. Four hundred and eighteen people had the same idea as us and walked or ran this popular free five kilometre event. All the recent rain had the start/finish area looking very lush. There were not any volunteer photographer for event 611 so I included some from the other times I visited.Overall this course is pretty fast and flat but it can get crowded and has a couple of bottle necks. It pays to be up the front if you can handle the faster pace. There are some pretty awesome trees and play equipment near by.It is close to the city centre The old Power house is now a preforming arts complex. I worked on the redevelopment project 24 years ago. Little did I know back then I would be doing parkrun right past it.The markets always have interesting things. We ended up trying some weird looking mushrooms. Some weird and wonderful art, probably not my style but makes for an interesting photo. This place has flooded a few times over the years but luckily not today.I love this new aerial screen shot of Brisbane from strava, it really gives a great over view of where we were.My time for this one was pretty slow but it is always good to get another one done.
