After an multi week organised Contiki bus tour of a lot of the major European Tourist site and a fair bit drinking. I decided to activate my Eurail train pass which I had purchased before I left home in Australia.

Few few of my fellow Contiki bus tour travellers where a bit shock when I just had a word to the tour manager and jumped off the bus with my backpack at a set of lights in Holland. First off I made my way to a friends place I that been writing to for years. A pen pal I had got through the Australia post pavilion in world Expo 88 in Brisbane. It was a great experience staying with a local and getting shown around.

I remember so well getting off the train and while walking to a Youth Hostel the fog started to cleared and revealed this war damaged church. It was like travelling back in time.

From Germany I wanted to check out a bit of Scandinavia. It was pretty expensive for my shrinking budget so I slept on trains over night, left my backpack in a locker at the station checked out a few of the Scandinavian cities during the day.
