Meanwhile i want to give some information about this long and beautfiul ramparts(you can also say wall):
The walls of Diyarbakir are known as the first in terms of the size and height of the bastions and the second in the world after the Chinese Seddle in terms of length. There are four main gates (Dağkapı, Urfakapı, Mardinkapı and Yenikapı) on the walls and 82 bastions on the walls. The height of the walls is 12 m. , width 12 m. , and the length is 5 km . The important bastions that do not lose even today are the following: Goat bat,on, Seven sister bastion, Married body (Ben-sen) bastion.

The inscriptions that reflect various periods and civilizations on all sides are filled with grapevine and relief motifs.

There are various inscriptions, fruit and grain motifs, weapon shapes, sun and star symbols, gambling cross, tiger, bull, double headed eagle, scorpion and horse reliefs.

The date of first construction is unknown, but M.S. In 349 the Roman emperor Konstantinos expanded it and repaired some parts of it. It took its present shape with the repairs made by the Great Emperor Justinianus.

2.The Bridge of Ongozlu and the Garden of Hevsel
Actually we had no time to go there and had no car in Diyarbakir so i took this beautiful bridge picture on a bastion...But i want to give some information about this bridge and the Garden of Hevsel:
The Hevsel Gardens presents an authentic value as a civil garden open to the public during its history in the geography where the garden cult is very important. It has a unique place in cultural and historical places besides its agricultural value as it exists as a very long-lasting garden like 8 thousand years in a region bearing traces of more than 30 civilizations. And it is a place that is in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The ten-eyed bridge was built at the time of the Mervans in 1065, it is 178.00 m. length and 5.60 m width. It is made of ten arches or opening and the biggest belt opening size is 14.70 m. Three eyes in the middle of the bridge made narrow and the other eyes of the bridge was made wider. The arches on the feet of the historical bridge built with the ten-eyed plan were made with sharp points. The sizes of the spikes in this pointed structure vary, while some rise up to the floor level, while others do not.

How i visit Diyarbakir?
The easiest way is flying to Istanbul firstly and then Diyarbakir. The Diyarbakir Airport is 6km far away the city center.
Where can i stay there?
There is a lot of choices of Hotel.but i suggest you the hotels which is close to bazaar area...Because if it is a closer you can do everything easily. I mean the bazaar is close to everywhere that you will visit and at the same time you can find any local meal in a short time...I aso suggest you to try to street kidnay sellers....
