Spent a half day at Ratargul Swamp Forest was so much interesting adventure. The combination of water and trees, It was just a spectacular nature.
Ratargul Swamp forest is also one of the most popular tourist spot in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Ratargul Swamp Forest is a fresh water swamp forest located in Gowainghat, Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is the only swamp forest located in Bangladesh and one of the few freshwater swamp forest in the world.
This is a evergreen forest. It is known as the 'Sundarbans of Sylhet'. This forest is engulfed with fresh water in most of the seasons.
Needs to take permission from the forest office to visit the forest. we have hired a local boat to travel through the swamp forest. Riding a boat slowly and moving forward to the forest I felt more curious about this forest.
I like this uncovered home. Though i don't know about this.
There is a building tower inside the forest. I went up there and it captured the whole view of the forest. The view was amazing from the top. I took some of photos of those wonderful views.
This is a water-drowned forest. Snake and worm snake widely can be seen easily. I saw worm snake there in the water and it was so scary for me.
Most interesting thing was the tong shop in the boat covered with a plastic cloth. There was available in the shop was water, tea, some chocolates, betel leaf also cigarettes.
This forest gets over flooded during the rainy seasons. The forest goes under 20-30 feet water in the rainy season. Rest of the year the water level is about 10 feet deep.
There were so many different trees all over the forest. 80 Percent of the forest area is covered with umbrella of the trees. This is a natural forest.
There we seen some birds in the forest and the call of the birds just made more wonder of the forest.
The place where we started the boat riding was overwhelming in the sunset. We enjoyed the sunset there.
Overall this journey was adventurous and full of charm in the nature. Wanna go again there.
Hope you like it.
Thanks everyone🙂
Stay safe & sound.
