If you don’t know what to write about - write about travels
Recently, I watched several episodes of the Turkish movie about the harem and its inhabitants. We are talking about the movie "The Magnificent Century". I was interested in the rather strange costumes of the actors and the interiors of the Topkapi Palace. I must say that I was very shocked by the manners and customs of the Sultan’s inner circle. And the great ruler himself was by no means an example of morality and complacency. It is clear that the film crew has embellished the image of the supreme ruler. But even the creative explorations of the writers and directors could not conceal the gloomy essence of the tyrant, who personally killed his two sons and gave the order to kill his childhood friend and closest ally. Looking at the attitude of the Sultan to his close people, one can not help thinking about what kind of fate the population of the conquered peoples expected.
But let's not talk about sad things. Let's prank about something abstract. Looking Turkish series, I learned some of the rooms where the inhabitants of the harem lived. Admittedly, the producers of the series spent a lot of money on the reconstruction of the palace premises. So, I watched the show and remembered my feelings. We visited the palace in the winter and it seemed to me that it was damp, cold and gloomy in the harem.
The harem plan does not have a regular layout. The palace consists of a suite of rooms attached to each other in random order. This brings the palace some picturesque.
I was surprised by the size of the premises of the harem. It is hard to imagine how 300 sultan wives lived there together.
Pay attention to the original room lighting.
How much patience and labor needed to create such a paving
Concubines came to the harem from all around the world. Maybe they looked as sad as this girl with the orange scarf.
In this pavilion, the Sultan received foreign ambassadors. Probably they also sat on the bench and prepared a speech.
The concubines watched the ships sailing through the Bosphorus to distant countries and were sad about their homeland
Here the inhabitants of the harem breathed fresh air and made plans how to poison next favorite of the Sultan
This is how the world looks from inside the golden cage.
