| Pour cette 172e édition du concours de LandscapePhotography de @photofeed, je propose ici une photographie de drone depuis l'île de Mayotte. La vue est prise depuis les hauteurs de l'île de Petite Terre et du lac Dziani. Petite Terre est la dernière née de l'île de Mayotte. Comme le reste de Mayotte, elle est d'origine volcanique et c'est ici que le volcanisme de l'île a eu lieu pour la dernière fois il y a de cela... longtemps, huit millions d'années pour être exact ! Petite Terrea grandi depuis le rejet de lave de quatre cratère dont La Vigie, Moya et Papani. Le 4e est en photo ici, le Dziani. Admirez ici le platier corallien frangeant tout autour du cratère, le cratère lui-même et la couleur de l'eau de son lac riche en sulfures. Si le volcanisme est arrêté sur l'île même de Petite Terre, la zone reste encore active puisqu'un volcan sous-marin grandit chaque mois un peu plus à environ 25kms à l'Est de l'île par plusieurs centaines de mètres de fond. Peut-être la 6e île de l'archipel...! | For this 172nd edition of the @photofeed LandscapePhotography contest, I am offering here a drone photograph from the island of Mayotte. The view is taken from the heights of Petite Terre Island and Lake Dziani. Petite Terre is the latest addition to the island of Mayotte. Like the rest of Mayotte, it is of volcanic origin and it was here that the island’s volcanism took place for the last time... a long time ago, eight million years to be exact! Petite Terrea grew up from the lava discharge of four craters including La Vigie, Moya, and Papani. The 4th is pictured here, the Dziani. Admire here the coral reef fringing all around the crater, the crater itself and the color of the water of its lake rich in sulfides. If volcanism is stopped on the island of Petite Terre itself, the area still remains active since a submarine volcano grows each month a little more about 25kms east of the island by several hundred meters deep. Maybe the 6th island of the archipelago...! |
