As some of you know, I have been in Paris, France 🇫🇷 Recently… I had no time to go through all my photographs yet 😉😎 but I came up with a little plan.
I go through them by the day, and select highlights out of them… if there are more than 500 photos per day, which was the case with our first day hahaha 🤣 and we walked more than 19km… I decided the day post, will be in 2 parts 😉🤩 so today I show you half of the day and next time the other half of the day 🤓🤩 and so on… I think that will work. Don’t you think?

Don’t worry… I won’t post toooo many photos. Today you see a selection of 40 photos, where I take you through Paris on a little tour 😎

I won’t post locations this time, as we go through many neighbourhoods /districts.

Let’s start our walk for today… are you coming with me?

As we landed in the morning very early Friday 1 July… around 9, we had the day for us, after dropping off our luggage at the hotel. We got some brunch… and started walking. We didn’t have really a plan for the day what we wanted to see. So let’s just go and discover 🤩

We come across this little park next to where the street market was, if you remember my post from #MarketFriday run by @dswigle
As it will be a warm day… we decide to follow the tree lined roads as much as possible. As they provide a welcome shade 😉 and are such a different view than our surroundings in southern Spain.
Crossing one road we see this little corner shop with flowers stalled out onto the pavement. I love flowers 🌱🪴🪴 I’m sure you do too.
Look here… a little fountain. Fresh water if needed. I have seen them in many squares.
What me amazed the most was the amount of #StreetArt I found. Almost on every corner.
If you pay attention to the details around you… you will see them too 🤓
As I want to cross districts, we are walking quickly through some major shopping streets. Our view in front of us. You see here the Pintemps malls.

”Printemps was founded in 1865 by Jules Jaluzot and Jean-Alfred Duclos. The original store was designed by noted architects Jules and Paul Sédille and opened at the corner of Le Havre and Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, France, on 3 November 1865. The building was greatly expanded in 1874, and elevators (then a great novelty) from the 1867 Universal Exposition were installed. Rebuilt after a fire in 1881, the store became the first to use electric lighting, in 1888. (Customers could observe the workings of the power plant behind a glass wall.) It was also one of the first department stores with direct subway access, the Metro being connected in 1904.

The policies of Printemps revolutionized retail business practices. The store marked items with set prices and eschewed the haggling based on customer appearance that had previously been standard in retail shopping. Like other grands magasins (literally "big store", department store), Printemps used the economies of scale to provide high quality goods at prices that the expanding middle class could afford. They also pioneered the idea of discount sales to clear outdated stock, and later the use of window models to display the latest fashions. A little bit further we walk past this sculpture of a bear. Let’s not cross as it is rather busy… let’s walk further 😁
As we wander further we see a large square, it turns out to be Place de la Concorde. Let’s have a look around it 😎

We see first, of course… this classic mustang 🤩🤩🤩 We can’t miss that 🥰 (I mean I hahaha 🤣)
Looking back we see this building Hôtel de la Marine. What a beautiful architecture.

It states:
”The hôtel de la Marine (also known as the hôtel du Garde-Meuble) is an historic building located on place de la Concorde in Paris, to the east of rue Royale. It was designed and built between 1757 and 1774 by the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, on the newly created square first called Place Louis XV. The identical building to its west, constructed at the same time, now houses the hôtel de Crillon and the Automobile Club of France.

The Hôtel de la Marine was originally the home of the royal Garde-Mobile, the office managing the furnishing of all royal properties. Following the French Revolution it became the Ministry of the French Navy, which occupied it until 2015. It was entirely renovated between 2015 and 2021. It now displays the restored 18th century apartments of Marc-Antoine Thierry de Ville-d'Avray, the King's Intendant of the Garde-Meuble, as well the salons and chambers later used by the French Navy. A separate part displays the Al Thani Collection presenting international and inter-cultural works of art from the collection of Sheik Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani.”

In front of us we see the Luxor Obelisk - Obélisque de Louxor.

”The Luxor Obelisks (French: Obélisques de Louxor) are a pair of Ancient Egyptian obelisks, over 3,000 years old, carved to stand either side of the portal of the Luxor Temple in the reign of Ramesses II (c. 1250 BC). The right-hand (western) stone, 23 metres (75 ft) high, was moved in the 1830s to the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France, while the left-hand (eastern) obelisk remains in its location in Egypt.
The Luxor Obelisk in Paris was classified officially as a monument historique in 1936.”

As we walk further we are crossing the Seine now. 🤩
In the middle of the bridge, you see now how wide this river really is that crosses Paris France 🇫🇷
On the other side… we look to the side we came from.
We are walking of the beaten path most of the time… and let me show you more details around we see.

A statue… on a little square.
Further along we see some large grass fields were people are enjoying themselves and resting.

Stunning buildings in the background, one side of us.
And the other side.
Under these trees we decide to rest a little…

Ok… yes… 😉😁🤩 let’s go than…

As I checked to see where we were in the big square… I saw something wasn’t too far. So we are actually heading somewhere.
We see impressive buildings on corners walking through the streets 🤩
Past this little pond with plants, fish, ducks and other birds.
We sit on the side… the concrete is warm. We see this bird running around.
Some fish swim by too, how lovely.
Across of us we see a house and the balcony has plants all over it.

And suddenly we see… something above the roofs. Yes, it is… the Eiffel Tower. Let’s walk further and check it out.

We walk towards this street and see 🥰🇫🇷💃🏻
The Eiffel Tower, I don’t think much explanation is needed here 🤓😉

As we walk around it, in different directions… we can take different photographs from different angles.
Of course don’t forget the beautiful flowers around you 😁🤩🌸🌸🌸
We are walking in every direction… and trying to see the Eiffel Tower in all it’s beauty.
Stunning right?
Some details that we noticed… look a little castle tower in the park beneath it.
We decide to go to the other side of the Seine again and watch at the Eiffel Tower from there.
Along the way we see 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰 a classic MINI. Some of you know I owned 4 of them. And repaired and restored them. So seeing one now… makes my heart 💜 go…….

We are crossing the Seine in a different spot now.
On the other side of the bridge, we look back and see:

From every angle it’s just stunning.
A bit further we see these statues…
And going to the far end of this area. We see… more of the Eiffel Tower 🥰🇫🇷☀️

Yep… I think we deserved a rest for today. Shall we sit on those benches, relax for a bit. We will catch up next time.
