A cold day walk could be beautiful...

I will prove that "theory" of mine now! :)

Some may have already know that Bulgaria was once a kingdom. That was only a few decades ago, before the Soviet army "liberated" our country and forced it into a republic ruled by communists. Nowadays, Bulgaria is a parliamentary republic, but let's cut with the politics already. Why did I wrote this though? Because the impressions I am sharing today are from within one of the residences of the former king, that are still open for the public.

This is a place where old and new meet together but not in the way you'd suppose. I could tell that this residence was really stunningly beautiful at the young years of the king, who by the way, is still alive and lives mainly in Spain, as far as I know.

Time turns architectural features into vintage art...

Being able to touch these details was kinda strange. I spent some time on the steps but at the time it was not possible to enter inside the palace...

I cannot say what style of architecture that is but it was a real pleasure to walk around it.

Custom national flag with coat of arms above the residential entrance of the wing that is occupied.

A king needs warmth in the cold days too, right?

And what's better and cozier than burning wood?

Some lovely angles in the botanical part of the huge garden.

There had been a few green houses in the past.

I really can not tell why I was so obsessed by this lamp.

I wanted to see and photograph it from all possible angles.

Probably because it somehow reminded me of my childhood.

In the village where my grandmother lived, there were street lamps like this one.

No airplanes were flying above then, though...

The garden is really beautiful, even when it is so cold.

It has a few "wild" parts.

Inside the only one functional green-house, exotic plants could be seen and purchased too.

I used the word "garden", but I probably should use the word "park" instead.

'Cause it is really a huge area.

With plenty of areas to rest, and alleys to walk on.

And spots at its border, where the strong winds and the fallen autumn foliage with its warm colors, create pieces of art...
