Greetings, travelers! How are you today, in this lovely and fresh spring morning?

Well, I suppose it is time for me to bring you out and high, in the mountains of Sierra Nevada, in the stunningly beautiful region of Andalusia in Southern Spain!

If you hike or drive above the village of Capileira at some point, I am sure, you will see it resembles a white eagle. A mighty bird of prey, landed on a rock and taking some rest while observing the area.

This village is magical, from some point of view the establishment will look big while from other observation points, or miradors, it may seem small.

To me, though, from all perspectives, it seemed white and magical!

So white that I could almost go blind. So beautifully white. Whitewashed by the hands of its relentless villagers, trying to cope with the hot summer sunlight.

Today, however, I am not going to tell you a travel story about the time we spent in the village.

Today, I want to focus my attention, and yours, obviously, on the amazing whitewashed chimneys, that are so typical for this small cozy place.

There is something very special about them.

I hope you will agree they all could tell stories, if we have the ears to listen to them...

And we have the capability to listen with our eyes as well...

Some of those whitewashed chimneys attract myself to embrace them.

I really cannot explain where this feeling comes from.

Perhaps, as one person who loves photography, I could try to analyze this by adding stuff like the amazing panoramic mountain views, the high contrast between the white architectural details and the crystal blue Spanish skies, the saturated greenery of the mountains slopes, surrounding this enchanted village.

Or just the simple fact I can walk streets, that are the roofs of the houses at the same time.

Or it just feels like I am a bird, that big white eagle I already mentioned, and I could spread my wings and fly over at any time...

Yes, I preserved many, many, visual memories of that magical combination of miradors, chimneys and whiteness!
