Malta.

This Mediterranean warm island country, a proud member of the European Union.

This beautiful country is a stunning "alloy" of several cultures and myriad of influences of the tribes and nations who had been dominating the fruitful piece of land in the middle of that central sea.

Its language is amazing. Again, what I could say by listening to the local people, and trust me, that was like listening to magical songs, is that that tongue is a mixture of several other languages.

I could hear and understand some words in Italian, English and perhaps Arabic. (Not quite sure for the last one, as my vocabulary is limited to a few words only ;))

I often remember my last trip and I am definitely going back there, considering I have the time and the resources to do so.

'Cause I was impressed by some many things...

The cozy yellow limestone buildings to enjoy while walking the narrow streets. Both old and new buildings are made by such stone bricks, produced locally.

The many sculptures, memorials and other art placed publicly.

The plentiful of breathtaking cityscapes...

The opportunity to have beautiful walks at some many different places by the sea.

The churches there are so many, that I think one would need very much time to visit them all, not to mention attending to messes in all of them. It wouldn't surprise me if even the locals don't know all of their churches and cathedrals ;)

The "feel" of the cities there changes dramatical from one district to another.

Oh, last but not least, the fishing boats, spread in several small bays, along the big residential buildings. I have to say, I haven't seen something like that anywhere else.

Probably visiting Malta and not trying sea food in a few of the thousand places to eat, is probably a crime! :)

Well, guess if I am planning another trip back there! Still, plenty of Maltese travel destinations and landmarks to explore and enjoy!
