This weekend, we went to see some cherry blossoms around our local area.
We managed to see four places where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. These places were all listed on the SBS website, in the Shizuoka events section.

The first place we went to was Kadoike park in Numazu city.
This was a park with a small lake and a couple of temples. Its a nice laid back place, where local people were enjoying the blossoms. Kids were playing, people were relaxing on picnic blankets, eating, drinking, walking around the lake etc. There was a row of cherry trees in bloom along a small river, which made the park quite special.

Next, we moved on to Izunokuni, A hot spring area between Mishima and Shuzenji. There's a river that flows round a small mountain there. A road runs between the two and Many cherry trees grow along the road at the spot where the river runs closest. It was a very popular place when we went. The name of the park is Moriyamanishi.. Kids were playing, people relaxing, sleeping, just staring at the blossoms. We had some onigiri and Fami chicken there for lunch. A nice stop.

Finally, we stopped of at a row of cherry blossom trees near the strawberry picking fields in Izunokuni. Its called Ema Strawberry Picking Center. The cherry trees grow along the stream behind the center. There were some people buying strawberry picking tickets and about the same amount of people, including us, buying strawberry ice cream and walking among the blossoms. A nice end to a nice warm spring afternoon of blossoms.
