Today I decided to continue the theme of monuments. At the same time, I will return to the monuments to those who have not returned from Afghanistan.

Monument in Podolsk

I promised that I would tell for another monument to the Afghans. Let me remind you that the first is located in Memory Perk. There is a monument and an armored personnel carrier.

But in Kotovsk (Podolsk) there are 2 monuments to the Afghans. The second is located in front of the central entrance to school number 9. This is Cheryomushki microdistrict.

How to get there

From the railway station to school number 9 and the monument, respectively, can be reached by minibuses, number: 1A, 2A, 3, 4, 5. You need to sit at the stop located near the police station. We leave at the Molodezhka stop (this is the popular name for the stop). We cross the road (Victory Avenue) and immediately get to school number 9.

Talk for the monument itself

In our city there were many children who fought in Afghanistan. There are those who have gone through other hot spots in the world. Including Transnistria, Libya, Iraq and so on.

An interesting picture is carved on the monument. A pinwheel cuts air with its blades. She flies over the mountains. Yes, over the hot spaces of not friendly Afghanistan.

Below, on the ground, a fighting vehicle moves to meet enemies. This blowing horrified many. Not just spirits.

Well, simple fighters were engaged in cleaning. These are airborne troops, special forces and ordinary soldiers. They entered the kishlaks, stomped along dusty mountain trails, walked along small water barriers and combed the green. They did what they were taught in their homeland - they fought. They carried out the order - they helped the friendly people of Afghanistan.

We remember those who never returned. We respect those who returned and were able to talk about the exploits of our guys. Now let's recall some of our guys: Captain Turcan Vasily Dmitrievich, Sergeant Travkin Vladimir Borisovich, Senior Lieutenant Kobyletsky Vasily Nikolaevich, Senior Lieutenant Moskalyuk Gennady Petrovich and Junior Sergeant Pokosenko Igor Vasilyevich.

“The memory of those who died in Afghanistan (died the death of the brave) is SACRED for us!”

The uniqueness of the monument is that it is located on the schoolyard. The younger generation will always know and remember the exploits of our heroic compatriots.

The monument itself is in the shade of Christmas trees. Around him is a beautiful flowerbed. On it, flowers delight with their flowering from early spring to late autumn. Nearby is a whole chestnut park.

We remember those who defended the interests of our large Motherland. We will never forget about the exploits of heroes!

This is not the last material about those who defended and protect our peace and quiet!
