The Greeks broke the "Greek Park" in Odessa. It was opened in 2018. The opening is timed to the birthday of Odessa. The central attraction is the Fountain-Sculpture "Beginning of the Beginnings". The author of this unique creation is Mikhail Reva.

The main idea of the sculpture

The author decided to recreate one of the foundational biblical stories: the creation of the world. We see two faces: a woman's and a man's. Both are inextricably linked. An olive tree spread over them. 7 sources are beating from it, which personify the elements of the creation of the world. Water falls down 4 troughs and, as it were, washes the faces of women and men.

Mythological, biblical essence of sculpture

The faces of Adam and Eve are shown as inseparable. There is no big space between them, separation of one from the other. This personifies the close (one might say, marriage) bond between a man and a woman.

Pay attention to the fact that a satisfied, soulful smile wanders on the female face. On the man's face, we see a hanging curl. But even here the author could not get around the theme of the Devil's temptation. If you look closely at the curl, then you can see that very tempting snake.

Water personifies continuous movement, the flow of life. Pure water washes the immaculate faces of Adam and Eve, as the first man and the first woman.

Reva himself pointed out that symbolism is in the foreground. The divine idea must remain in the form in which it was created. This is a kind of lesson, a hint to future generations. It is impossible and dangerous to destroy the original, divine principles. This is a marriage between a man and a woman. These bonds are shown as sacred. They cannot be torn apart by earthly desires.

Sculpture "The Beginning of Beginnings"

The sculpture itself is made of bronze and covered with patina. This is protection against the negative influence of the ox. Thanks to this substance, the sculpture received its unique appearance. She got a unique bluish green color. The sculpture itself was made in Kiev.

In his works, the author tries to use original, natural images. In symbolism, we often see tree trunks, berries and fruits, water and parts of the human body. This gives the sculptures and monuments extraordinary and unique meaning.

In general, the sculpture itself is very interesting. A particularly curious picture opens up at night. There is a backlight that gives mystery and mystery. I recommend not only visiting Odessa, but without fail walking along Primorsky Boulevard, Greek and Istanbul parks. By the way, I will talk about these places of rest separately.
