Traditional Filipino snacks are offered in a great spot just opposite the Tubod Mar bay in Jagna, Bohol. This is a great place indeed to watch the sunrise while having a sip of their hot chocolate from pure tableya made of cacao seeds then paired with sweet and silky puto maya or the Filipino version of sticky rice topped with some white sugar.
We Filipinos love this pair at whatever time of the day it would be.
This is their humble signage. Painitan sa baybay is open between 6-9AM and 2-5PM every single day.
Let's have a look at their menu. Their snacks are just available in their little bahay kubo. The above shows huge casseroles containing the hot chocolate and the sticky rice.
Say hi to their crew whom I believe are just relatives. They wear their masks all the time!
View at the sie of their bahay kubo store.
They also offer some home grown vegetables like Okra or Lady fingers as well as string beans. They sell them for a very affordable price!
The view is where the sun rises. There's a little hut where diners can also eat with their orders.
The highway view. It is very easy to spot because its just right next to the road.
Their sticky rice or Puto Maya as Boholanos call it.
We also ordered Sapinsapin and palitaw with generous amount of shredded coconut meat!
Here's my hot chocolate!
The family preps our hot drinks with white sugar. Yes, we Filipinos love sweets!
They uses wood for their plates and cups. Can you spot the Gabi roll?
It is safe to bring your kids as they offer alfresco dining and look at those tables and benches. I love the rough wood furniture! Their garden is filled with plants too and fruit bearing trees as well! That's Matti.
Highly recommended!
