Artillery fort Stachelberg I

It's Saturday 31.7. 2010. We get up very soon. The train is coming from Pilsen, from the main station after five o'clock in the morning.
Together with @ garygeo1 we are taking the fast train to Prague.
It is a little cold in the morning, but the weather forecast promises a cloudy, hot day.

It is the time of corridor lines. Here, the train can reach high speeds with safe train stability.

We are falling fog. We stop at the traffic light and I have the opportunity to take a picture of the shining sun through the fog.
Poetry on the tracks. Similar moments need to be enjoyed.

In Prague we will change to Trutnov. We'll be there in the morning.
From Trutnov we will take a bus to Babí, tvrz.
The bus will climb a decent hill and save our muscles and time.
Welcome to KRNAP, Krkonose National Park.

We will also look at the map and our next steps. Right at the bus stop we are welcomed by anti-tank obstacles made of steel hedgehogs. Parking for visitors of the fortress is well protected :)

From the bus stop we follow the red tourist sign. We have only 800 m to our fortress.
We are the first to welcome us near this stop. Light fortification bunker vz.38. Here unconventionally combined with the wayside shrines. It is equipped with a period camouflage paint and shot caps.

We continue along the red tourist trail, The Way of the Čapek Brothers.

Near the fort we pass another renovated petiole. (ROP - fortification works directorate)
This one is equipped with a heavy machine gun. These small objects, flocked in the border areas of Czechoslovakia, served to defend against the advancing infantry of the enemy.

And he'll be looking at us behind the porthole. Giant at the foot of the Giant Mountains. Great bass of concrete and armor of observation bells. Today and in 1938 ...
