Late Night Art Find, Negronis and An Old Tree.

Hi Friends,

There are some things you see in life that make you stop and ask yourself, "What the heck is that?" Whether it's a strange creature you've never seen before or a UFO in the sky, some things just don't seem to make sense.

One of the things that makes life so interesting is the fact that we are constantly trying to make sense of things that don't seem to make sense. Why are we here? What is the point of it all? These are the types of questions that we all ask ourselves at some point in our lives, and we continue to ask them even when we don't have any answers. But that doesn't stop us from trying. We want to make sense of the world around us, and we want to figure out what it all means. Even when the answers are elusive, we still keep looking for them. And that's what makes us human.

Anyway, I was out for my nightly walk when I saw this incredible glass sculpture. It was so intricate and beautiful that I had to take a picture of it. At the time, I did not know what it was, it was just... their... and I stopped and looked at it... for a second, I was going to keep waling on, but decided to stay for a moment and take a closer look.

Let me introduce you to "The Runner".

The Runner

Athens is a city with a lot of running history. The first marathon was run in Athens in 1896, and the city still hosts the annual Athens Classic Marathon. The course starts and finishes in the heart of the city, and takes runners past some of Athens' most famous landmarks.

Such as the story of Pheidippides, who ran over 150 miles in 2 day to ask for help, the deliver a message of victory before dying... but not first before saying “Nike! Nike! Nenikekiam” (“Victory! Victory! Rejoice, we conquer!”).

This art was made by Costas Varotsos. Costas, amongst many other skills was an artist, and this work was first shown in the Olympic stadium not too far away.

Getting close up to the work of art, it must have been a challenge to put this all together, and I have to wonder, just how many times he cut himself making this art. Also, how hard it was to move and assemble... has anyone tried to break it before? Who cleans it? Do they clean it? So so so many questions I would like to know about.

These jagged edges that just screen, don't touch, but whispers to you to touch... like, yea. I know you are glass, but, you look so pretty, I have to touch you... but I won't...

Even though you know you should not touch sharp glass, you cannot resist the temptation to do so. This is a result of the cognitive dissonance you are experiencing. Cognitive dissonance is the discomfort that you feel when you hold two contradictory ideas or beliefs at the same time. In this case, the two contradictory ideas are "I should not touch sharp glass" and "I want to touch sharp glass." The discomfort that you feel from this cognitive dissonance is what motivates you to resolve the dissonance by changing one of the conflicting ideas. In this case, you will likely change your belief to "I should not touch sharp glass, but I can resist the temptation to do so."

Any ways, here is the full art work... non-touched.

Well, if you follow my posts you will know I am fan of this next drink...

The Negroni is a popular cocktail that contains Campari, gin and sweet vermouth. It is served on the rocks and is typically garnished with an orange slice. After my walk, I did stop off for one.

A Negroni gives off a deep red hue that is impossible to ignore. It's hypnotizing, really. The drink is smooth, with just the right amount of bitterness that makes it irresistible.

There's something about the deep reds of a Negroni that calls to me. The smooth, sweet taste of Campari mingling with the earthy bitterness of vermouth–it's like a little piece of heaven in a glass. I could drink them all day long!

Anyway, here is a 600-year-old olive tree that was next to the runner as well... so so old, and it still makes olives to this day! WOW!

And to wrap up this post of night things I did, a very cool "Building Tattoo" (A phrase that the most epic @elmerlin came up with).

In conclusion, There is something about glass that just feels so luxurious. The way the light dances off it, the way it catches the eye. It's no wonder that so many artists use it in their work. While you're out and about, don't forget to admire the old trees - they make for great Instagram photo opportunities. AND Negronis are the perfect drink for and and every day,

Thansk for reading, I hope you have a great day!
