the arakawa nature park entrance had this cute statue of a young boy sitting and probably wondering what is expected to see in the park. well, there is no need to wonder as i will take you to a mini tour of the park. i'll be a non time walker this time, i had quite a bad morning so i wanted to bury that with this quick stroll early.
i have been to this park in multiple occasions and in multiple seasons. it was located pretty close to home. and that clear blue sky was just so inviting that i could not resist visiting a park in my vicinity.
i entered the park from the south entrance, and this long walkway beside the tram tracks led to the main entrance. i could still remember the rose garden this park had when i visited in the spring of last year. and that was one of the main reasons why i chose this park.
it was but a simple park, with a small stream and some wooden walkway over some marsh area. two kids were busy looking at small fishes in this stream earlier, i took the time observing them.
that wooden walkway led to a central pond. just look at that water under the blue blue sky. this is a manmade pond though, would you believe that the park is on top of a water filtering facility? all of this land is on the 2nd floor of a structure.
here i saw the children who were playing by the stream earlier. they were headed to the pond viewing point, i was on my way out. this child was so playful, so much fun to observe.
here i was at the water lily area, these are the smaller types. those leaves were way smaller than those i found in other parks. but these leaves were extra glossy and very vibrant. what these lacked in size, they compensated in color.
there also at least two variants, a pink (my colorblind eyes tell me that these are pink) and a white. i was just basing on the flower colors really, they looked different enough. but it is very possible that both were from the same species. it could just be that one decided to be plain white this time.
i was now moving to the northern half of this park, the water facility is quite visible from left fence.
this side had open spaces, i first came across the playground for kids and kids at heart. the park was a hit for families for sure, there were just so many parents and kids combo in there. it was a sunday, so that too had an influence for sure.
paths were paved and filled with greens. it was such a great contrast to the sky. there was a pool, but it was not in operation. i wonder if it does open in the future.
and here are the wide areas for picnic. people were laying mats on the ground as i passed. i would have wanted to stay for a bit and have some more time exploring the rose garden. i couldn't even take pictures of the roses. it was already lunch time and my housemate invited me to eat out. i had to be at the restaurant soon, further exploration will have to wait.
i did pass by some roses toward the exit, i was probably late for the season. there were still flowers, but most were already wilting. the petals had dry ends, they will all be gone the next time i visit. i guess no rose viewing for this season for me.
this walk way led to the exit, i don't know if it had some roofing at some point. it was unique as it is though. i admit, it had some cage feels to it which gave me some chills.
after a pretty long walk, i finally reached the restaurant. and just to give you an idea, it was a chinese style shop. i had seafood rolls, these were an all time favorite of mine. shrimp, squid and scallops were the fillings. i also had a liver meal as main dish. all good food.
it was but a short walk, but this one had the most memorable pictures of the day. still couldn't get over the blueness of the sky. it was such a clear world after days of raining.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
