Hello friends, today I am telling you about my latest adventure! This Sunday I set off from my Milan for an adventurous trip to Comacchio, a town that looks like something straight out of a postcard, with its canals and its twenty thousand inhabitants frolicking among fresh fish and a water carnival.

In fact, many people in Italy refer to Comacchio, this town of about twenty thousand inhabitants in the province of Ferrara, as Little Venice, because it looks so much like Venice.

And that's right, dear friends, because the carnival here is a little different from the usual: instead of the usual floats in the streets, here the floats parade along the canals as if they were Venetian gondolas, small boats festively decorated, and I assure you it is a sight for sore eyes!

I'm not a carnival lover, it's not a festival I'm passionate about, but seeing this parade impressed me a lot.

But the highlight of this trip was the lunch break, in a typical restaurant in the area. Sitting right by the canals, I was able to taste cod with polenta, a typical dish that they highly recommended. And I must say that after tasting it, I almost felt like a local!

They cook a lot of fish here because they are close to the sea, and they know how to do it really well!

But I didn't have time to digest that I decided to pop over to Ferrara, the neighbouring city famous for its castle and church. And I must admit that, despite its fame, I found a bit of a mess with the stalls that had taken over the main square. But so be it, I was not deterred and kept walking, admiring the view and imagining I was a prince moving from castle to castle.

Here, we were enchanted by the beauty of the Estense Castle, which dominates the city's main square, and the majesty of the Cathedral of San Giorgio.

In addition, we were lucky enough to come across a Sunday market where we could buy typical products from Emilia Romagna such as Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and balsamic vinegar from Modena, there are few so nice nowadays.

In short, it was an unforgettable Sunday, discovering new places and traditions. And if you want my advice, never be afraid to set out: you never know where you may end up and what you may discover! Until next time, friends! Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed my story!
