Hi everyone, today I want to let you know and share the weekend I spent in the city of Brescia. Brescia is a very important city located a few kilometers from Milan and it is a city that I see as my second home because my father was born here. Therefore, I often come to Brescia to visit my grandparents who, even if they are a little older, are still healthy. Brescia is a city rich in history and culture, with a beautiful cathedral and many other places of interest. Furthermore, it also offers many opportunities for shopping and entertainment. I highly recommend visiting Brescia if you get the chance.

Brescia is a city located in the Lombardy region and is the second city by number of inhabitants after Milan. The city is very important for the region and this year, together with Bergamo, it will be the capital of culture for 2023. This is a great honor for Brescia and for the Lombardy region, and events will certainly be organized to celebrate this important milestone .

Brescia is a city rich in history and culture, with a beautiful cathedral and many other places of interest. Furthermore, it also offers many opportunities for shopping and entertainment. The city is also famous for its gastronomy and fine wines.

The nomination of Brescia as capital of culture 2023 is a unique opportunity to discover this city and to get to know the Lombardy region better.

When I go back to Brescia, it's because I have friends I haven't seen since I was a child. These friends of mine are a bit crazy and sometimes they organize a little special excursions with me during the weekend. One of these weekends stuck in my mind in particular. I had arrived in the evening and, although it was late, my friends suggested that I go on an underground tour of the city the next day. I was a little skeptical at first, but then I said to myself "why not?".

The day after my arrival, a friend of mine who organizes these tours of the underground part of Brescia proposed that I join him and other enthusiasts to discover another side of the city. Many don't know it, but many Italian cities, such as Brescia, have a hidden part in their basements. Not only the most famous ones such as Rome or Naples, but also other cities have these underground areas which have been an important part of the city and which some associations are now trying to enhance by organizing tours.

I felt very curious and agreed to join the group. We met our guide, an expert of the underground area of Brescia and he took us on a journey through time, along the underground paths of the city. We saw Roman cisterns, secret passageways, artificial caves, and even an old aqueduct.

The guide told us the story of Brescia and its evolution over the centuries, explaining how the artificial caves had been used in the past for various purposes, such as warehouses for goods or for industrial activities. We have also seen how some of these caves were used as shelters during the Second World War.

It was a fascinating tour that allowed me to see another side of the city and to better understand its history and evolution. It was a journey into the hidden Brescia, a part of the city that not everyone knows but which is just as important and worthy of being discovered. I highly recommend anyone visiting Brescia to take one of these tours of the underground part of the city, to discover a side of the city that you can't normally see and to better understand its history and evolution.

I must say that it was a great experience to go to the Brescia underground and the association that organizes the tours also provides all the necessary equipment. Of course, you have to use boots because everything is wet and very humid, you just have to pay attention to where you put your feet because there is the risk of getting hurt. It was also a lot of fun because there were very nice people united in the group.

I discovered a part of the city that I didn't know and I understood better its history and its evolution. It was a unique experience, which allowed me to see another side of the city and to better understand its history and evolution.

I hope you enjoyed these photos and gave an idea of how beautiful these hidden places are under Brescia. It was surprising to discover the existence of these places and see how they are maintained so that they can be visited. But never, ever would I have thought that so much water flowed under Brescia and that it was collected in these large cisterns.

I thank you for having accompanied me in this very particular story, and I hope that you too have discovered something new about the city of Brescia and its hidden treasures. I look forward to the next adventure in other places.
