Have you ever seen a real Pomelo? Let me tell you it is quite shocking. For a second I was staring at it like, wow those are big grapefruits. But than it clicked... Imagine you would never seen such fruit before, how surprised one would be. It really is somehow too big to be true.

It reminds me one joke I sometimes perform on less inteligent among us :)

Just ask, do you know where pineapple grows? Some people are quite convinced it grows on trees...

But back to my bike trip. As I have recently moved to Antalya as my temporary home, I got myself a bicycle. It is awesome, it hardly ever rains, I am on it everyday. This time I took it a little further than usual. Shortly examining the map, I had a direction and kinda plan. But direction was more than enough.

Preparations for Turkish Independence Day were in full swing and people started hanging the red flags everywhere. Interesting but in a way also creepy custom. Well at least for somebody from post socialist countries where flag hanging was almost compulsory. I am not fan of it. But okey, after all who am I to complain.

After few kilometres, I am reaching proper suburbs. Small rivers and man made channels are sourcing water for agricultural operations. Also chickens are to be heard everywhere. Luckily the traffic is not too bad and I am enjoying my ride. Following photos are from the most interesting part. At some point it looked almost apocalyptical. I like that...

Some of those cliffs and terraces on top of them resemble topical Mediterranean vibe. After all we are still in the region. I can imagine owning a house in top of such cliff and pretend I live in Hollywood ;)

Waterfalls are also everywhere in Antalya. For instance this one, which doesn't get any credits at all would be a national pride somewhere else. Here, it is just another waterfall...

The next few kilometres are marked by rocky formations around the road, and a street dog here and there. Locals also look at me weirdly when passing by. I guess they don't see such an attraction as long as the month is. Reminds me Albania and sketchy places I got myself into trouble. So I am pushing hard and speeding away on my awesome machine.

Coming back I am turning against the sun and the light runs low and I can't take any more pictures. Another thing I have seen for the first time in this one day, was a cotton field on the last photo. Unbelievable, so much discovery in one day, thanks to a bicycle and a random trip to nowhere...

All the best,

Global Local
