So called Masal Satosu is a fancy looking palace in Eskisehir. Located quite a walk from the center, I suggest you to take a bus if you don't want to buy new pair of shoes after your day trip. No, is is actually not so bad. You can follow the river and go against it's stream directly from the city center. It takes surely over one hour, so take a beer or few and bunch of friends, that would help...

Not knowing what to expect, I was thinking it is surely some old palace from a feared leader or king of some sort. The truth is probably far from my assumptions. It actually looks like it is one big amusement park for kids.

Entering to the premises is free, you have to pass soldier looking guards in masks and you're in. The next step is to get to the castle itself. At this point I have started to be suspicious. Something wasn't right. It all started to feel bit fake. But the ticket was only about 60 cents, so screw it. I am going in. After all I was walking for about an hour and half to get there. I am not leaving for the same journey without knowing what is inside.

As I proceed to the another guard, I am asked "papers please" meaning they are asking me if I had the DNA altering medical treatment. I show them a week old antigen test and I am allowed in. What a rip of guys. Not even a torture chamber or anything historical at all. Only some silly pictures and statues and two floors to discover. Well you can be the judge now...

My self guided tour inside the "palace" is quickly over and I am leaving with the back door hoping it leads me somewhere with restricted access, but I can't be again further from the truth. I get back to the park, just from another side.

So would I recommend the visit? Now thinking about is maybe for families with kids. For a lonely covaids-refugee there was nothing overly interesting and I must say it almost felt like a day wasted. But I wanted to discover the most out of Eskisehir, while staying for three nights there and it really looked like the best attraction out there. Sadly the picture is nicer than reality. It is like watching an awesome trailer and than being disappointed with the movie. Well not everyday is Thanksgiving right...

All the best,
