Saturday. For many the day of hangover. Luckily, mine wasn't too bad and I had enough energy and motivation to go and wander around harbor in Antalya. It was still early. I seem to can't sleep well and for long at hostels. As soon as somebody wakes up, I am awake.
Which is actually a good thing as it makes me stand up and do things. Like this time. Already in the old town my direction is obvious. Deeper into the web of little streets full of cosy souvenir shops.
Passing by Antalya Saat kulesi, otherwise known as the local Clock tower. Pretty impressive building, located on busy boulevard with ice cream and kebab stands.
This guy made me laugh hard. I wonder how can anybody fall asleep like this. Luckily for him he can't catch covaids right :)
In Antalya, there are street cats everywhere. Turks like animals and treat them well, the weather treats them even better and they just strive in local neverending summers. If I would be a cat, I would want to be a cat in Antalya.
From the cliff on the other side of bay that I came from a new and fresh views of the harbor can be seen and I am blown away by its beauty. Just imagine landing here with your ship few centuries back...
Strategically placed public balconies and terraces offer amazing views into some sort of courtyards, hotels and such.
Former pirate ships, converted over the course of time into party boats are parked and ready to go at any minute. The captain just waits for a group of vodka loving tourists and the adventure can begin again. Hangover walk the other day guaranteed. I would happily join the ride for a "reparatur bier", but it is too early and I am not invited...
All the best,
