It’s always a bit surreal celebrating Christmas in Spain, especially where we live, where winter feels more like an extended autumn. But arriving in Alicante just before Christmas? That was a whole new experience.

This was our first time visiting Alicante together, and the city was absolutely buzzing with festive spirit. Everywhere we turned, decorations lit up the streets in preparation for the big days. Alicante is famous for its larger-than-life Bélem figures, and we were blown away by the massive displays in Plaza del Ayuntamiento—the main nativity figures were huge!
