Hello! In this blog: 22 days in Santiago de Cuba. Tourist places, I am going to tell you about the places you should visit if you come to the province and some funny moments during my stay.

Santiago de Cuba is a province that differs from others in the country because of its attractive mountains, which impresses any first time visitor.

On February 25 my project manager Terina, for whom I already felt some empathy for the date, invited me to go out with her boyfriend Roberlandis who was coming from Palmasoriano to see her, so we went early for breakfast to take advantage of the morning transport, as later in the day they were difficult. That same day we were greeted by a very talkative waiter, his topic was about dry wine, which was really funny.

It turns out that, my co-worker Walfrido, took an empty knob of dry wine to the restaurant to fill it with water and the waiter saw it and immediately that happened he made a big exclamation and swore that that empty knob that was on Walfri's side was the best dry wine in Cuba, but the funniest thing of all is that he himself said that he did not know the reason for that, since according to his opinion, Cuba did not have the grapes to make that kind of wine, so he kept saying and contradicting himself during the whole conversation, but what was clear was that with that wine the food he cooked was finger-licking good. The truth is that we had never before met anyone who loved dry wine so much.

Our first destination on the tour was the Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca (the Morro), so we had to travel in two trucks heading in different directions. The trip was long, but entertaining as Terina was showing me around the city like the best tour guide there is, I could not have done better. Once we reached the Ciudamar road that would take us to El Morro, I came across a spectacular view of the seafront of Santiago de Cuba.

Before going up to the Morro we passed by the beautiful Estrella beach and wanted to stay, but we gave up in the end because that was not the plan.

We continue the route and reach the top of the Morro.

There we had a snack of empanadas and a soft drink.

We had fun with the phenomenal view and killed time making jokes and taking pictures.

Around noon we decided to go down to Cayo Granma, which is an islet located in the interior of Santiago Bay and can be reached by a boat leaving from the Malecón.

The Cayo community is small and made up of fishermen who have incredible wooden houses that catch anyone's attention.

In my next blog I will tell you about one of the most famous places in Santiago de Cuba, both nationally and internationally. Would you like to read it?

Thank you very much for opening my blog, have a nice day!

The photos were taken by Terina, Roberlandis and myself.
