This early afternoon I decided to not use my car, to not use my scooter, to not take an Uber or some other form of taxi, to not use public transport, but to use my legs to join the small housewarming party of one of my friends.

45 minutes walk criss cross Amsterdam...Blue Sky; Full Sun; Low Temperatures...with pretty empty streets! Simply Wonderful!

And you know what? Walking is the only way to discover the small details around us. A beautiful way to seize the moments.

While on the way to the place I was totally occupied, on my way back home I had my - somewhat older - iPhone close at hand to capture some of the nightly beauty of my little city.

Don't expect the usual photography; For those I refer you to this place we spend a lot of time in: The Internet.

At a corner of 'big' street in the southern part of Amsterdam (Apollolaan if you want to know) I encountered this beautiful piece of 'art'.

Just before this big-ish street, I crossed the district where the few houses in Amsterdam are located. Well, we can call them better villas instead of houses. Big mansions build decades ago, where the millionaires of our city are living.

One of these villas is nicely situated at a very quite canal and the owners took some effort to create a cool looking garden. One of the very few in this district with this amount of lights.

Although the villas are free standing, it'll not be a city when other parts are not build like blocks of apartment buildings. Or?

At the border of the villa district, crossing a little bridge, I was able to capture this fantastic view. Surely not a villa - although more and more people becoming rich, they dont get that rich in the Netherlands - but a restaurant situated at a crossing of several canals.

Next these statues below.

Yes; It has to do with justice. One of Amsterdam most prestigious lawyer firms houses their employees in the building above.

Did these lawyers meet this 'guy'?

I really love it most of the people in Amsterdam (and Netherlands for that matter) don't cover their windows, so it gives us pedestrians a glimpse of how the houses and apartments look like, and what is happening inside.

Suddenly these men showed up!

Since these dudes are a bit 'vague' - they didn't respond to my good evening to you sirs - I decided the capture itself shall not be too straight and clear as well.

Exiting our large park (Vondelpark) build right in the middle of a super expensive neighbourhood, I was able to shoot this photograph below. Key in this still is that I personally do like what I see, but in reality the buildings are pretty ugly. A great example that light and lightning can make things beautiful to our eyes and mind!

Close to my own place, the city apparently decided to bring more and different lights into this street full of shops, little restaurants and the occasional bar. At least a few dozens of them, every other 20 meter or so.
